Augmented Reality for Self Service – An EU Green Week Partner Event

Signifikant and PDSVISION technology partners of the EU Commission funded ReCiPSS project, will demonstrate how users of whitegoods such as washing machines, can be empowered to perform maintenance and repair with augmented reality. This is being done in order to encourage more cost-effective and sustainable use of appliances.

The project ReCiPSS tries to solve the contradiction between the overproduction of cheap short-lived products and sustainable production with high quality long lasting products.

Here, Signifikant is developing circular tools and ICT platforms that will allow data exchange to track usage and remote monitoring of Gorenje’s (the project’s white goods demonstrator) washing machines. While PDSVISION application is aimed at supporting Service, Maintenance and Training with visual Augmented Reality (AR) instructions that can be consumed internally and externally.

The Speakers:

Ruud De Bruijckere: VP of Product Development at Signifikant, has more than 25 years of experience within real-time expert systems, predictive maintenance, and aftermarket information management systems. Ruud is responsible for Signifikant’s research projects around circular economy and sustainable development.

Pontus Blomberg: is currently responsible for Heading up the AR business within PDSVISION Group. Pontus has close to 20 years of experience in the industrial AR/VR/3D space, including successfully launching a range of solutions and related services within both CAD & Augmented Reality where the key to success are efficient and automated processes and means of achieving dynamic data flow to and from the users.
